Important work deserves to be understood, supported and remembered.
We make how an organisation is seen, trusted and championed match what it's actually doing.

Our Inspiration
The black iris is one of the rarest flowers in the world, often found near excavation sites, surfacing where the ground has been turned.
It became the name of our studio because it describes how we work.
Every organisation already carries a structure of ideas, beliefs and intentions beneath the surface. With the right strategy, design and positioning, we uncover what's there and bring it to light.
Our Team
We came to this work from sociology, public policy and the arts, bringing our wider perspectives to everything we do.
Kassandra has a particular ability to sense what is innate in a brand, not just what’s visible on the surface, but the deeper quality that makes it distinct. Her background in international business, strategic communications and sociology defines how she approaches creative work: beginning with understanding, seeing brands through the audience’s eyes and the cultural context around them. Across a 15-year career spanning global advertising, editorial publishing, sustainability and the arts, she has helped shape the worlds organisations create around their work. Her interest lies in the human undercurrents beneath explicit messaging: the meanings, associations and experiences that deepen connection. She brings brands into greater coherence visually, strategically and instinctively. Kassandra leads the brand and creative practice.

Hugo has spent his career understanding what people and organisations need, often before they can fully articulate it themselves. It’s what has made him both an effective advocate and strategist, and what shapes the perspective he brings to the studio. His background spans senior roles across major industry bodies, advocacy groups and businesses, including the Victorian Chamber of Commerce, Energy Networks Australia and Port of Melbourne. Throughout his career, he has directed major national advocacy campaigns that have informed policy and public understanding, helping leaders and organisations forge the partnerships, positioning and influence needed to advance complex work. Hugo leads the studio’s advocacy, positioning and reputation work.
