Uncovering Identity

Uncovering Identity

The Black Iris is one of the world’s rarest flowers

Native to Jordan and the country's national symbol, it grows on rare ground, hidden until the earth above it is broken open.

We took our name from it.

Brand identity has a similar arc to the flower’s emergence. It surfaces only when the ground beneath it has been broken open, when a brand has taken the time to understand why it exists and what makes it distinct.

Many feel the instinct is to express first. But expression without that understanding stays on the surface and rarely lasts.

This is also true of the creative process.

Our best work is rarely the first thing we make. Ideas surface gradually. They meet tension and contradiction. They are returned to, questioned and worked over until the shape is found.

The rough first draft is not separate from the final product. It’s integral to it.

And like the black iris, it surfaces only when the ground is ready.
